Hypocrite? Me?! Nevahr!

One of the biggest hurdles of being a hypocrite is admitting you actually are one, so yeah. Here we go.
I'm a big, fat hypocrite!
I cringe when I walk into messy houses, despite the fact I have the worst problems keeping my own clean. I deplore my husband for the amount of coke he drinks, when the ice tea I drink is probably JUST as bad. My overweight relatives frustrate me with their lack of ambition to become healthy, but here I am, *completely* out of shape myself. (Skinny I may be, but athletic I am not.)
I think it's natural to pay more attention to faults in others than in ourselves, but in my case, it seems the things I'm more IRKED by are the things I actually do, too... But I think part of the reason that is is that I want someone to actually prove me wrong so I feel hope that I can actually fix my own problems, too.
So yeah. This was an INCREDIBLY tangentical blabber just to say all of one thing:
I installed some CC hair/skin/eyes/makeup into my game... And I actually like them. XD Which is TOTALLY irrelevent to what I actually just said above, because it's not anything *bad*... I just feel really dumb for doing something that really irked me about other blogs. But maybe because it was just the wrong CC? I dunno. Anyways!
I went to an enormous amount of trouble to find the skin I liked the best:
(Click her to see all of them!)
I settled on either 2, 4, or 9.
- 1 is the original EA skin (if you're curious about the 'control image')
- 2's shading (or lack there-of) I really like, but the lips are a bit TOO light and look odd on really pale sims that shouldn't have such light lips. Like, Brad looked like he was wearing lip gloss. XD
- 4 has some really awesome shading, but it only looks good on certain sims. I may have to download it as a non-default.
- 9 looks great on almost all my Sims, except Elder females, where the under-eye gets a tad blurry... It also tinges the skin a bit more peachy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
So as of right now, I have #9 installed, and this is what it looks like on Sims you'd actually recognize:
As you can see, the skin's more noticable on some sims than others.
(Also, I have two types of custom eyes on here; Jeb and Brad and wearing one kind, while Alesha, Margo, and Meredith are wearing another.)
Thoughts? Flames? ;D
Oh, and as a bonus image:
With the help of the new Poser mod I got this image of zee family, and it was way too cute not to show off.

Nine is great! Where's it from?
It's the Apple skin from MCalero: http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=20056.0
I downloaded the Non-Default for Strawberry and Mandarin too; they're nice, but they only look good on certain kinds of sims.
1 is EA
2 is Realism Skins by Traelia
3 is Aikea Guinea
4 is Moonlight by Kanno
5 is Lemonleaf
6 is Silk from Ladyfrontbum
7 is Ultra-Plain Faces by Tamo
8 is v1.5 Ephemera
9 is Apple from MCalero
They're all quite nice and it's really hard to pick... But unfortunately Margo is such a good model that it doesn't show how some skins look really good on her but not on others. ;D
Cool, thanks! I'm using #6 ;) So if you want to see a few other silky faces, just take a look at some of the pics at my blog :3
I will do that! :D The only thing I don't like about that one is that because I was trying out just the 'face', it looked a different color from the rest of the body and that kind of bugged me. ;D
LOL, your legacy is seriously making me giggle, too. XD
There is a total difference between CC that looks natural and CC that makes blogs overly frou-frou and ridiculous.
That there is! I really wish I had the time/know-how to edit some out there, because I do like a lot of Peggy's hairs but they're like... HUGE... and even the re-textures still aren't to my liking.
I did find a bunch I really like, though, so we'll see. I probably won't do a full CC-makeover til the end of the Season, just to avoid confusion... If I do at all.
Just updated Jane's screenshot to show her uber hairstyle better. Such a pretty sim. :D
